The spend follows a contract win with International Correspondence Schools and other work with financial organisations. Stewarts has also become a Xerox Premier Partner one of 35 UK companies to have the title.
"It is quite prestigious for us to be a Premier Partner and means we are part of a network of companies that can assist each other," said Stewarts operations director Kenny Murray.
The 300,000 DocuTech will run alongside a DocuPrint 135 and a DocuColor 8000. The investments in digital have helped the company to win work ranging from manuals to direct mail.
Stewarts has a turnover of 6.5m and a full-time workforce of 76.
"Stewarts is a bit of a success story and has built up a strong business, which is why we've appointed it a Premier Partner," said Xerox graphic arts director Peter Taylor.
He added that Stewarts was taking advantage of more organisations deciding to "outsource properly" and moving away from facilities management.
