It is aimed at large offices and small- to medium-sized printers, a sector that Xerox terms light production.
The standalone copier 1010 will be priced at 34,762 ($54,100). The printer version with EFI Fiery EX controller will cost 40,224.
The Xerox 1010 can be used as a digital copier or connected to a network to provide scanning, job build, store and retrieval and digital reprint functions. An optional 150 sheet interposer allows pre-printed colour pages to be incorporated into sets printed on the 1010.
Xerox monochrome business unit vice president and general manager, Mark Waxenberg said the 1010 would strengthen the companys offering in the fast-growing light production segment.
The 1010 is claimed to be the only product in its class with a scanner that can scan both black-and-white and full-colour images, and has 30 gigabytes of storage to allow as many as 3,000 scanned documents to be saved.
