As well as the ‘All Weights’ mode, the press can be set to deal with specific weights of paper, with duplex printing at the same speed.
It can handle a range of media, from coated and uncoated paper to polyester and transparencies, and is aimed at high-volume commercial printers and in-plant set-ups.
The press features a 2,400dpi resolution and front-to-back registration tolerance of 0.5mm, which Xerox has claimed complements standard litho output.
Available finishing devices include an offset catch tray that can hold up to 500 sheets, a high-capacity stacker, bookletmaker, document binder and fusion punch for coil-bound documents.
The 8000AP with Xerox FreeFlow Printer Server 6.0, CXP8000AP or EX8000AP will be available in the UK in the third quarter of 2007.
