Built on the success of the firm’s 8000 digital press, the DocuColor 8000AP can handle a wide range of media from coated and uncoated papers to transparencies as well as synthetic materials such as polyester.
The machine is designed to meet diverse and high-volume needs and has two operation modes to achieve this.
The first mode is an ‘all-weights’ setting. Using this, the press can run at 80 pages per minute regardless of paper stock, weight or type up to 300gsm. The second mode is a ‘single-weight’ setting, which varies the print speed based on the paper stock. The unit offers 2,400x2,400dpi resolution and a tight front-to-back registration of +/- 0.5mm.
It is also provided with a choice of the firm’s FreeFlow Print Serve 6.0, the CX8000AP Creo colour server and the EX8000AP EFI Fiery front end, meaning it is able to integrate into most workflows. Job submission, management and advanced colour features all help boost the quality of variable data printing.
As standard, the machine has a two-tray feed with a paper capacity of 4,000 sheets. A second feeder is available with multiple pick points that can extend the paper capacity to up to 8,000 sheets. A delivery tray holds up to 500 sheets, offsetting separate jobs.
