Xaar positive as its profits rise

Xaar has released an upbeat trading update ahead of its full-year 2005 results.

The ink-jet printing technology group has reported pre-tax profits of 11m, compared with 6.5m in the previous year. Sales were at 42.8m compared to 34.8m.

Cash at the end of the year was at 14.4m, which the company said reflected the increased capital expenditure. The full results for 2005 will be released on 14 March.

In the first six months of 2005, Xaar's pre-tax profits were 3.5m with turnover at 19.8m.
