Bevis has worked at the Cambridge-headquartered inkjet manufacturer for almost six years. He is leaving to join computer games company Frontier Developments as CFO.
Xaar chief executive Doug Edwards said: “The search is already underway for his replacement and we are confident we will find a strong candidate to support our 2020 growth plans.
“Our strategy is on track, new products being well received and product printing is going well.”
Bevis will step down on 24 March 2017.
Xaar is in the midst of an ambitious growth plan, instigated by Edwards, to more than double sales to £220m by 2020. It made its first acquisition over the summer when it bought US firm Engineered Printing Solutions.
