WPS aims to grow business following investment injection

Wright Printing Services (WPS) is aiming to add 15% to its top line and to install new capital equipment over the next three years after receiving the initial part of an investment from the South Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF).

The Rotherham-based company has received the first installment of a £500,000 cash injection that will allow the 60-staff printer to develop its business.

According to Ian Wright, managing director at WPS, the first step will be to update its reprographics department with a new CTP device in the first quarter of 2010.

"The company is currently working on plans to improve its reprographics systems, to ensure the technology and capacity are in place to support the anticipated growth in revenue planned over the next few years," he said.

WPS, which has an annual turnover of £5.5m, has a trade customer base that includes print management business and brokers. It produces business stationery and continuous business forms, as well as leaflets, flyers and brochures.

Paul Betts, investment manager at SYIF, said the cash injection demonstrated the fund's "confidence in the management team and the company’s ability to grow the business".

"They are well positioned to capitalise as things improve," he added.
