Wifac not involved in Wifag sale

Distributor Wifac Group has distanced itself from a potential sale of Swiss sister company Wifag to rival press manufacturer Manroland.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Manroland was in talks to purchase newspaper press manufacturer Wifag.

However, Dutch distributor Wifac has told PrintWeek that all other activities in the Wifag-Polytype Group will be unaffected by the deal. This includes activities in converting, printing and finishing.

Wifac Group will remain an independent part of Swiss Holding and will continue to work with press manufacturer KBA alongside other brands it sells.

A statement from the company added: "All other A-brands of the Wifac Group, among which are Agfa, Screen, MBO, Perfecta, Wohlenberg, Hohner, Toray and many others, will remain a part of the autonomous strategy of the Wifac Group."
