Wide-format kit up for auction from closed Hampshire printer

A wide range of printing equipment along with a number of other assets is set to go to auction as its Alton-based owner enters liquidation.

Signs Direct (UK), which specialised in signage for the development and construction industry, ceased trading on 7 January with the directors instructing Quantuma Advisory to assist the firm in placing it into liquidation.

The firm’s website has been shut down with contact details of Quantuma Advisory being given and stating that any orders placed that have not been completed and delivered will not be fulfilled.

Signs Direct (UK) is a private limited company with its registered office address at 31 Chertsey Street, Guildford, Surrey. It is unrelated to Ilkeston, Derbyshire-based signmaker and vehicle wrapping specialist Signs Direct UK and likewise numerous other businesses throughout the UK with the same name.

Business asset appraisal firm Hilco Valuation Services is responsible for overseeing the sale of a wide range of equipment at the company’s Alton, Hampshire facility including wide-format kit, a range of contractors' plant machinery and the company’s fleet of vehicles.

Featured items up for sale include three Canons, an Arizona 6170 XTS HYB500 flatbed, an Arizona 1280GT Metric HYB340, and a Colorado 1640 four-colour UVGel, a Soljet PROIII wide-format printer/cutter and Versa Express RF-640 from Roland DG, and a laminator, engraver and CNC router.

Other equipment includes a mobile air filter, a sheet metal guillotine, and a Linde EP20-2 battery-powered forklift truck.

Some of the items for sale amongst the range of contractors’ plant equipment include installation tools, petrol generators and aluminium ladders.

Meanwhile, the company's fleet of Peugeot and Citroen vans with plates dating from 2019 are also up for grabs.

Viewings are available on Monday 7 February. Online bidding closes from 11am on Tuesday 8 February and purchases can be collected by appointment only between 9am and 4pm from Thursday 10 to Monday 14 February.

Quantuma and Hilco representatives were unavailable for comment.
