The sign and display firm was founded by a teenage Arthur Widd in 1888 and has grown over 130 years into a multimillion-pound business.
Widd produces in-store, directional, LED and external signage for both national and international clients at its 2,787sqm facility in Leeds.
Head of operations Rory Campbell-Pilling said: “Widd Signs continually adapts as markets and fashions change, so we have moved from traditional practices to more modern processes, including the introduction of many new materials, acrylics and metals, LED technology and digital print.
“Introducing new technologies and machinery whilst keeping high-level skillsets and craftsmanship enables our business to add further capability and capacity in creating beautiful branded environments and signage.
“We continue to use high-quality techniques which require a very high skillset and level of craftsmanship. This is very important in order to maintain the high quality and innovative approach we deliver.”
Having grown its staff by 50% in the past three years, Widd is now seeking further expansion across its client base in the UK and Europe, which will involve the introduction of new materials and technologies to enhance its capabilities and capacities.
Its client list currently covers the property, construction, leisure, hospitality, automotive and education sectors, with customers including Primark, Schuh, Marks & Spencer, Burnley FC and the National Science & Media Museum in Bradford.
Widd’s capabilities include print, vinyl and CNC cutting, acrylic and metal fabrication and stove enamel paint finishes, as well as maintenance and aftercare.
The company will mark its anniversary with celebrations later in the year.
