White Print O Pack in Baddi upgrades facility to pare the lack of skilled manpower in Baddi

Baddi-based White Print O Pack updgraded its packaging shopfloor with a pre-owned Bobst 102E die-cutter. The installation is a counter strategy for the lack of skilled labour in the remote industrial area.

The company was established in April 2008 by partners – Amit Gera, VS Diwan and Gaurav Diwan.

It specialises in print and packaging for the pharma industry. Gera said: "The Bobst die-cutter runs for more than 12 hours in a day. On a monthly basis, we do the finishing of over 100 tons of converted board on die-cutters from Bobst, folder gluer from Vijaya, machines from Pratham and coating machine from Autoprint."

The company has a consumption of 75,000 sheets of board per day, supplied by ITC, JK and others mills.

With a sales and designing office at New Delhi and a platemaking machine from Proteck at its working unit in Baddi, the company processes 400 TechNova plates per month. The pressroom is equipped with a four-colour coater KBA press.

Gera said: "There is a big demand of exposing and UV and our focus is on that aspect. Indian machines are not up to the mark in terms of quality. We are not very versatile because we do 90% work for pharma. Next in line is exports for pharma cartons."

The company is close to a turnover of Rs 10-crore with a workforce of 60 persons at its 1,000 sq/metre unit.
