Weedon launches secure packaging range

Weedon Group has launched a secure packaging range for the mailing market through its subsidiary Weedon Corrugated Products.

The Audenshaw, Manchester-based company has launched Securepak Plus, part of a range of tailor-made postal wraps.

It is the first launch by the former Rowpack business since Weedon Group bought it out of administration in June.

When packed, a seal is removed from an adhesive strip which bonds immediately on contact, but according to managing director John Weedon, what makes Securepak Plus special is that the self-adhesive tape that secures the package is applied inline on the corrugator as part of the production process, which reduces cost.

He said: "Securepak Plus has been designed to meet the growing online shopping market. With more and more products being ordered on the internet, e-retailers need packaging that is simple and efficient to use, and which will provide good protection for contents in transit.

"Securepak Plus represents a new direction for Weedon Corrugated Products. We are already well known for volume corrugated packaging and provide top quality brown boxes cost-effectively."

Securepak Plus is aimed at large volume users and Weedon said it was ideal for shipping books, catalogues, CDs and DVDs.

It can be produced to any size, and is said to be quick and easy to use. The packaging is made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials, which can be printed on either side or both sides.
