Warners to build new factory

Warners Midlands is to build an additional 4,000m2 factory, next to its Manor Lane site in Bourne, Lincolnshire, which will house two new web presses and perfect binding lines.

The reason for the investment, which could top 10m, is simple. "We're absolutely chock-a-block," said Warners managing director Philip Warner.

The plans are part of the printer and consumer publisher's continued growth. "In the past five years we bought two M600s, a mini-web and two Muller Martini high-tech stitching lines with Amrys," said Warner.

The firm hasn't finalised the kit deals for the new site, and will hold off making any decisions until construction, which could take 12 months, begins sometime next year.

Turnover for the print division is currently 27m, and the firm plans to grow this to 40m in the future. "When you're investing that kind of money you want to grow your business," said Warner.
