Wam!Net issues blamed on changeover

Wam!Nets owner, Savvis, has attributed customers problems to the transition of the business, and has promised to offer a better service once its completed.

European managing director Richard Warley recognised the firm hadnt done its best, but said we do take this very seriously.

A source at a London repro house said: The service is so bad and key people are leaving. Im pissed off and frustrated.

The latest person to leave is European sales director Lee Myall, leaving European business manager for print & publishing Tim Daly as the face of the firm in the UK.

Savvis staff have been trained on Wam!Net products and services. The firm said this effectively gave Wam!Net a 140-strong team in Europe compared to the previous 20.

Last week some clients lost the service while Wam!Net servers were moved to Savvis, which bought it three months ago. Most clients have yet to switch to Savvis network, and this will occur between now and mid January. It will be better in the long run, said Daly.
