Vogue has an average circulation of 192,152 but this rises to around 238,000 for its high-profile September issue. The figure could be even higher this year due to the issue being guest edited by the Duchess of Sussex, a move that has garnered widespread coverage.
The attention-grabbing front cover is printed with white plus CMYK and neon orange, with a CMYK reverse on silver Mirri substrate from Celloglas.
Michelle Mills, business development and marketing manager at Thame-based Windles, said the firm had won the work from Vogue publisher Condé Nast following a word-of-mouth recommendation.
“We are always proud to be entrusted to work on such prestigious and beautiful projects,” she said.
“One of our specialisms is working with more challenging materials. We reacted quickly with proofing and worked closely with Celloglas who produced the material. We were delighted to be awarded the job.”
The cover features 15 women chosen as part of the ‘Forces for Change’ theme for the issue. They include New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Arden, who was photographed via video link by Peter Lindbergh – a first for the magazine.
Vogue is printed by Walstead Roche. The September issue goes on sale on Friday 2 August.
