The publisher chose Celloglas' Mirri substrate for the special covers which feature Harry Potter, James Bond, Jack Sparrow, Aragorn, Jason Bourne, The Bride (from Kill Bill), Maximus, Shaun (of the dead), Wolverine and The Joker.

London-based ColourFive UV litho-printed the covers onto silver Mirri. Colour Five managing director Neil Atkinson said: "We were delighted to print these spectacular covers, the movie icons coupled with the shine of Mirri creates covers that really stand out. They were printed with an opaque white in select areas; this creates contrast by selectively blocking the metallic effect."
