The firm, based in Coalville, Leicestershire produces a range of laminating and mounting equipment, along with other finishing kit.

The US expansion encompasses its Matrix range of single- and double-sided laminators, and the Easymount wide-format laminating system.

Vivid sealed the arrangements after gauging interest in its range when exhibiting at the Graph Expo show in 2011, and at last year’s SGIA event. 

Product manager Bruce Cozens said the firm had taken its time finding the right partners: “We have signed up eight dealers initially, so it’s early days, and there will be plenty more to come as we expand the network. It should be an exciting year ahead for us.”

The move builds upon Vivid’s entry into the Canadian market a year ago, which Cozens said was "going great guns”.

Its equipment is targeted at commercial, digital and wide-format printers in the low- to medium-volume market, with prices starting at £2,000.

The firm will also exhibit at Ipex in March, and at a Brazilian print show next summer.

Vivid employs 30 staff and has sales of just under £7m.
