Approximately half the spend went on a KBA 46 Karat Plus direct imaging press, while the rest went on the building, which required internal modification to house the new press.
Vision Print managing director Simon Wood said the decision to purchase the Karat, which requires a stable temperature in which to operate, necessitated the move.
"Before we were in a studio environment, whereas now it's much more industrial. This has given us the space we need to house the new press," said Wood. "We've also been able to modify the interior of the building in addition to installing an air-conditioning system to keep the temperature constant."
Wood said the firm would most likely follow up the investment with an automatic Stitch-Fold and Trim unit from Watkiss Automation.
