The integration is intended to further automate the process of colour profiling and sending PDF artwork to specific titles for publication.
Vio Worldwide sales director Gavin Page said: "If you have a copy of GMG's ColorServer, which most agencies and pre-press companies do, you can now send it to be profiled against the publication it's going to go in."
According to Page, the software integration is targeted at creative agencies, repro houses and studios that are running GMG's ColorServer software in-house and using Vio's web-based Adsend to deliver files.
"A lot of pre-press houses are already using Adsend and have ColorServer, and all this means is that now we have an offering that completely integrates both for them," he said.
Vio managing director Chris Friend added: "This programme re-enforces our long-standing partnership with GMG UK and puts the power of GMG ColorServer where it should be – right in the creative environment where it is able to cope with the demands of a busy agency".
The collaboration has the potential to add significant automation for pre-press providers compared with their existing ad delivery workflow.
Page said: "Once they've taken the booking, they can send the file out via us, pull down the relevant specs for the publication from the cloud, which will then automatically route the file to the right queue in ColorServer.
"They then get the corresponding profiled file back from ColorServer and automatically populate a job ticket, append the correct PDF, and send the job without having to touch AdSend at all; so it's a fully automated process, including their own internal profiling."
The partnership announcement coincides with GMG UK's launch of its GMG ColorServer Platinum service, which includes one GMG ColorServer licence, publication profile database, hardware and service contract for £895 a month. Customers can now choose to include AdGATE with this service for just £100 per month extra.
