The Reading-based digital and screen printer will install the Fujifilm Sericol-supplied machine at one of its Berkshire factories in October to boost the company's capacity and output quality.

Ayerst said: "It will add considerable capacity and allow us not only to grow our small- and medium-run volume display business, but also expand into and offer a competitive service on longer runs."

The 75-staff print business will use the Inca Onset 20 to help it produce a range of work including banners, billboards, building wraps and wallpaper printing.

According to Ayerst, the large bed of machines, such as the six-colour S20, offers better value and quality than many other smaller models in the market.

He said: "If someone is buying print from one of the hundreds of smaller flatbed machines, then they are not buying the right thing.

"They should be buying output from the Inca Onset S20 as it will be better value – it will be quicker and it will be higher quality."

The machine, which joins equipment including a Durst Rho 320R, a NUR Expedio 5000, a Vutek 2360 Ultra Vu, an Inca Eagle 44H and a recently installed Kongsberg cutting table, also uses Ultratone Uvijet inks to help produce a strong colour gamut.

"Our customers need to know that the machine will be up and running reliably and that the quality will be consistent – and with the Inca Onset S20 it will be," he said.

The Inca Onset S20 can print at resolutions of 600x1,000dpi on substrates up to 50mm thick and on a printing area of 3.1x1.6m. Its top output speed is 250sqm an hour.
