A source told PrintWeek that six members of the quality assurance team and six project managers were amongst those at the Witham, Essex reprographics branch of the large format and packaging specialists to be told that their positions were being made redundant on Wednesday (23 January).
The company boasts clients such as Unilever, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s and Tesco, which has recently launched a strategic review over the future of its troubled US-based subsidiary, Fresh & Easy.
Chief executive Mick Tooley bought Wyndeham Visual Communications from Wyndeham Press Group in 2007, and rebranded the five divisions under the new title Visual Communications Group (VCG).
Tooley declined to comment as VCG Kestrel is still in consultation period with the affected staff.
