The start-up firm installed two Manrolands – a HiPrint 700 six-colour plus coater and an R500 five-colour plus coater; a Screen 8300S CTP with Raptor 85 G&J processor; a raft of Bobst machinery which includes three Novacut 106, an Ambition, an Expertfold and a window patching and liner; a Perfecta 115TS cutting machine; a PT10SS pile turner and an Epson WUT 7900 inkjet printer. Esko’s workflow ArtiosCAD, desk pack and RIP was also part of the investment. The equipment has been installed in a sprawling 35,000 sq/ft production site.
"We meticulously conceptualised the project that would be flexible enough to carry us through from a start-up with few orders to a high-volume capacity, which is our goal," said the twenty-year old final year student of engineering, CEO and MD of Mass Packsols, Moni Patel.
Patel is optimistic about the growing demand for packaging products, which rests on the relatively low per capita paper consumption in India as compared to international standards. He said: "I believe the consumption of packaging products is bound to grow what with packaging becoming an important component of the overall marketing experience."
Mass has resumed commercial operation with a staff of 35 drawn and plans to run operation 24x7 soon.
Patel’s father Arvind is the chairman of the firm, who said that this is the first phase of the investment, "We expect to complete the Rs 100-crore investment in the next few months."
