Jim Miller who runs Miller Decals in Georgia, US, took first place, with UK entrant Chris Hooper in 2nd and Train Moldovan of Austria in third.
“There’s an amazing amount of talent here so to come out on top is very special,” Miller said.
This is his third attempt to triumph in Europe, following wins on other continents and second and third place at previous European events.
“Europe has a lot of good wrappers; there are so many good guys, I really wanted to win here,” he said.
Miller, who started applying decals to cars in 1979 and has been in wrapping since it started in the 1990s, went on to compete against the winners of separate competitions held in South Africa, Mexico, Denmark, Eurasia, Brazil, Ireland and France in heats yesterday and today.
Hooper said he was glad to take second place. “It was stressful, it was nerve-racking, it was a long two days,” he said.
The competition in 7-S50 is sponsored by Avery Dennison and Mimaki and has attracted crowds throughout Fespa Digital. The grand final takes place at 1.30pm today.
