The new Ryobi 765E device, which was supplied by Apex Digital Graphics, has replaced a 25-year-old Heidelberg MO machine and was installed at the company's new Medway City premises in January.
"We've had to have some very intense training on it and the results speak for themselves," said director Lucy Fogarty of the five-tower machine, which has been up and running for six weeks.
She added: "Our capacity has increased by around 25%-30% since it was installed. We could take on more work but I'm very cautious that the guys are in their first six weeks of a new machine so I want to make sure they are confident first and that we are producing the best quality before we start exploring trade print."
Fogarty said the 41-year-old company had invested in the Ryobi, which has a list price of £390,000 and can print at speeds of up to 13,000sph, because they were having to outsource more and more work to keep up with demand. "Now we're able to bring it all back under one roof which will really improve our profitability," she added.
The company took delivery of the new device shortly after acquiring local finishing business Rochester Print Finishers, with which it was doing a lot of business. TT Litho moved into the firm's Medway City Estate premises, doubling its floorspace overnight, and also took on the firm's five staff bringing the combined business workforce to 15 and a projected turnover this year of £1m.
The business prints a wide range of products including commercial print, corporate literature, newsletter, magazines, stationery for businesses and organisations including national charities, museums, hospices, schools and hospitals.
