Goodspeed Communications future is under discussion after industry sources said the groups bankers were taking a hard look at its financial situation.
Goodspeeds last accounts filed, to 31 December 2000, showed a pre-tax loss of 150,000 on sales of 9.05m.
An Experian report suggests that suppliers should not proceed with unsecured dealings with the group without obtaining a directors guarantee.
Four months ago the groups Southend-based sheetfed arm, The White Dove Press, revealed an investment in two six-colour Komori Lithrones and a six-station Muller Martini Bravo saddlestitcher (PrintWeek, 20 July).
Its managing director, George Pryde, and Goodspeed chairman Leo Smith were unavailable for comment as PrintWeek went to press despite repeated attempts to contact them.
Goodspeed Communications also owns repro house Essex Colour.
