TPL titles for Cooper Clegg and Garnett

Cooper Clegg and Garnett Dickinson have won business from The Economist following the demise of TPL.

Tewkesbury-based Cooper Clegg is to print the title's new annual spin-off publication Intelligent Life. It will have an initial print run of 260,000 and is to be launched in June. It will focus on upcoming trends in fashion, technology, sport, health and travel.

Rotherham-based Garnett Dickinson will replace TPL on its CFO Europe title. According to The Economist associate publisher David Gill the deal was awarded to both firms because they were "closest to TPL" in terms of facilities.

"Both firms have the flexibility to handle these jobs. Publishers will live to rue the day TPL closed down as it will put more pressure on others," said Gill.

Last week the Goodhead Group's web division bgp benefited from TPL's closure with the deal to produce titles from Future Publishing and IPC (PrintWeek, 8 April).
