TJ international buys MBO buckle folder after successful trial

Book printer TJ International has taken permanent ownership of an MBO T960 buckle-folding machine after a successful trial.

The Padstow, Cornwall-based company moved into large-format printing last year, installing two MBO T1120 large-format buckle-folding machines from Friedheim.

However, in order to handle smaller sheets, TJ has now installed the T960, after it performed well in tests.

Chief executive Angus Clark said: "Since its installation, it has proved it can handle the vast majority of 960mm jobs that we run extremely well."

The folder includes DataManager software to integrate the machine into the digital workflow, navigator control, double and wastesheet detection and safe sheet in-feed.

TJ International employs around 125 staff, specialising in high-quality hard- and softcover books for leading national and international publishers. It has a turnover of around £11m.
