Thane-based Print Vision upgrades its pre-press set up with Fuji-FFEI Alinte 8 buy

Print Vision, the Thane-based service bureau has installed one Alinte 8 along with a Fuji Inca 80 processor and a workflow.

Prashant Shinde, managing partner at Print Vision, said: "Before installing the FFEI Alinte 8 violet CTP, we were using the imagesetter for films. Over a period of time, we felt that CTP is the way to go. Today, most of the printers are using the CTP plates to produce the quality work."

Print Vision is jointly owned by Ruturaj Prabhulkar and Prashant Shinde. Both are printing graduates from Pune Vidyathi Griha (PVG) in Pune. After a detailed study over the subject of pre-press Print Vision decided to adopt the violet technology and Fujifilm as their partners.

Shinde added: "Prior to the purchase of the Alinte 8 we had looked for the other available options in the market and after comparing the two technologies, violet and thermal, we finalised on violet as it is fast and cost effective. The running cost of the violet is lesser than thermal."

The FFEI Alinte 8 has capability of producing 34 eight-page plates per hour at 1200 dpi and 19 eight-page plates per hour at 2400 dpi.

Till date Fujifilm India has installed more than 30 CTP's in commercial and newspaper segment.
