Terry Cooper installs CCM guillotine at Richard Edward within a week

Playing cards specialist printer Richard Edward has replaced a broken-down guillotine at its Thamesmead factory with a CCM Premier guillotine.

Operations manager John Slayford said that the new machine, which has been supplied by Nottingham-based Terry Cooper Services (TCS), had been installed within a week of its order.

He said: “We ordered the machine on a Thursday. It was installed the following Tuesday and we were up and running on Wednesday morning. Very impressive.”

Richard Edward produces up to 40m packs of cards every year for brands including Top Trumps and Monopoly.

Slayford added: “Our clients require a premium product that clearly needs to be cut down to size, which is why a reliable and accurate guillotining operation is so important for us.”

Richard Edward revamped its factory last year after ground movement in early 2006 destroyed a 10-colour MAN Roland 700 press, the first in the UK.
