Leeds City Council gave permission for a block of 12 flats next to Technoprint's plant two years ago. However, Technoprint managing director Mark Snee argued that the plot should remain a business location and took the council to court.
Following a hearing at the High Court in London on 15 February 2010, Mr Justice Wyn Williams quashed the planning permission on 24 March 2010.
Williams deemed the planning permission "unreasonable or irrational" and found in Technoprint's favour.
Snee said: "I must thank the councillors who have helped and supported us throughout the case. There now needs to be an enquiry into the conduct of the case."
