With effect from this month, Nottingham-based TCS will offer a number of Foldnak bookletmaker products, including the entry-level Foldnak M2, which can process formats from A5 to A3, and the 1,500bph Foldnak 40, which can handle A5 up to SRA3.
The 2,000bph Foldnak 8 and Foldnak Compact models will also be offered by TCS. Prices for the Foldnak bookletmakers range from around £3,000 for the M2 to around £15,000 for the higher specified models.
“We’re constantly being asked for entry-level bookletmakers and the Foldnak 8 and the Foldnak compact fit into that bracket as they are both well under £20,000, which is a fantastic price for entry-level booklet-makers, especially for digital printers. We believe there was a massive gap in our portfolio for those products,” said TCS managing director Chris Cooper.
The firm will also distribute the newly designed Hohner Digifinisher 8 combined folder and saddle stitcher, which is capable of combining digital output as well as litho sections.
The HSB 8000 saddle stitcher, which can produce A4 stitched booklets from a single sheet at a speed of 8,000bph, and the faster HSB 13000 will also be available.
“To remain competitive in the marketplace, customers are increasingly looking to expand their capabilities to offer a wide range of finishing services,” said Cooper.
“When they are making that step to bring an operation in-house they want to not only be confident that they make the right investment choice, but also to be supported by the right manufacturer.
“Hohner produces an excellent portfolio of high-quality, easy-to-use and affordable solutions, especially now since the introduction of the Foldnak marque. We are very much looking forward to helping our customers become more competitive in the most cost-effective way.”
Hohner UK’s managing director John Sykes added: “TCS has clearly established strong and enduring relationships with a large and varied customer base. We are delighted to work with them to help build an outstanding portfolio.
“Today’s market is constantly evolving and the pace of that change has not been seen in the printing industry before. Bookletmaking is about delivering fast, efficient high-quality results that support a printer’s bottom line. We now feel that we have developed the right solutions and look forward to expanding the UK customer base alongside TCS.”
TCS also distributes CP Bourg, CCM Premier, Challenge and Bagel machinery including guillotines, binders, collators, bookletmakers, foil blocking, folders and online digital print finishing systems.
Its customers include commercial printers, trade finishers, packaging firms and blue-chip companies.
