The Bristol-based business, which has a longstanding relationship with Heidelberg, took delivery of the kit last month.

The agreement also included the Lifecycle Smart version of Heidelberg’s Print Site Contract, which comprises the supply of consumables for the company’s Speedmaster XL 75-5 L press, installed in 2015, coupled with a service support contract.

The latest investment followed the company’s investment last year in two Polar 92 guillotines.

“We needed to look at our folding capacity and our first port of call was Heidelberg. We spent a lot of time on the specification of the folder with their team of experts and, now the machine is in and running, it has proved that we ordered the right machine with the right company,” said Taylor Brothers production director Tim Thorne.

Managing director Nigel Millen added: “Our longstanding relationship with Heidelberg always helps. On this agreement we have also started to use their consumable products on the press, and this has worked perfectly; excellent support and their online shop makes ordering really easy.”

Heidelberg said the Stahlfolder BH 66 reduces throughput times and can be used to produce a wide range of printed material, from book sections to commercial products.

Based in Bristol since 1832, Taylor Brothers works with customers across all sectors, including local clients Bath & Bristol Council, Arnolfini, and Hargreaves Lansdown as well as national and international clients.

In September 2018 a management buyout (MBO) saw a team of six members of staff take ownership of the company. In the same month the business moved to a purpose-built 1,020sqm site two miles from the centre of Bristol.
