IT finance company Syscap has launched a specialist division within its leasing arm, Systems Capital, to offer bespoke finance deals for the pre-press sector.
The firm already has a strategic alliance with CreoScitex and a partnership with NCS.
Division manager Alan Linnitt said Syscap had looked at pre-press for three years and decided that it wanted to get into the market. It is also considering offering leasing packages for the digital printing sector.
"We don't ask for manufacturers' support except for maintenance and service," said Linnitt.
Systems Capital has also set up its own re-marketing department. It has joined Pira to gain access to industry trends and research.
Linnitt said there was a lack of leasing packages for the pre-press sector because kit was becoming obsolete in increasingly shorter periods of time.
Systems Capital concentrates on leasing and does not handle hire-purchase agreements.
The division has recruited former Taylor Bloxham and Optichrome employee Peter Scoffham to provide market knowledge.
Syscap has been operating for more than 10 years in the IT sector, where it pioneered the Leasing Made Easy standard.
NCS has worked with Systems Capital for six years. Sales director Tony Newton said Systems Capital "understands the market, products and the dips in cashflow".
