The Israeli manufacturer sold 25 digital enhancement presses in the first three days of the show and 14 more on Friday.
While its most productive press, the Ultra Pro, represents the majority of the sales – including one each to China-based Beijing Xinghan Special Printing and Italian printer Tipolito Capelli – the new E106 for the folding-carton market has also been well received, with sales closed at the show and letters of intent reaching the double digits.
Scodix chief executive Roy Porat called Friday the biggest day of the company’s history and said sales are doubling every day: “We’re a small company so for us this is a very big deal and we’re very proud of it.
“Drupa 2012 was considered by all as the launch of Scodix, and a great success for the business. Between shows we grew from 12 customers to over 200, and we were hopeful of the same success in Düsseldorf again this year. We’ve seen all that and more.
“We’re running out of champagne,” he added. “But it’s a good problem to have.”
The manufacturer’s E106, which is being shown in public for the first time at Drupa, is a B1-format multi-function digital enhancement press for short to medium-length runs.
The machine has production speeds of up to 4,000sph, which Scodix said would help folding-carton printers and converters differentiate their offerings and boost profit margins.
Commercial deliveries of the press are set to start in 2017.
