Sun Chemical champions colour-change ink for 'greener' printing

Sun Chemical has launched a colour-change ink range that it claims allows customers to improve output, efficiency and costs.

SunLase is designed for inline patch printing and enables application through various print processes.

The ink manufacturer said it provides extra opportunities for customers displaying variable data, as packaging products can be nominally patch-printed and marked and coded without resetting consumables.

Business director of packaging Tony Palmer said: "This is the ideal solution for businesses looking seriously at packaging innovations and environmental issues."

SunLase inks and coatings contain DataLase pigment and are formulated to be sensitive to specific low-energy laser emissions, using CO2 absorbers.

The range enables end users to introduce greater efficiencies and productivity, as well as higher quality through the use of CO2 lasers markers.
