The deal was part of the firm's 2.7m spend at Ipex, an investment that Streamline hopes will help lift sales from 7m to 10m in the next three years. It has also ordered a Suprasetter platesetter with new hybrid screening technology and ImageControl spectrophotometry. Hybrid screening will replace Satin screening and the firm will trade in one of its two Trendsetters for a Suprasetter.
"The Suprasetter has the build quality we want," said Streamline director Richard Dalby (pictured left). "The hybrid screening technology will enable us to offer better quality to a wider spectrum of customers."
He added that the company plans to "undergo print colour management", calibrating from the press back to pre-press.
"Quality matters to our nationwide customers," said Streamline managing director Alan Squire (pictured right). "We handle high-definition subjects where colour tone is critical, so we need controllable and predictable colour."
Streamline will take on four new business development and sales staff. The kit will be delivered in October.
The firm plans to network its Shuttleworth MIS and production workflows, while the use of remote proofing is expected to bring Streamline closer to its customers.
