Tambrite, a fully-coated folding boxboard with a cream reverse, was upgraded as a part of an investment programme at Stora Enso’s Ingerois Mill in Finland.
The manufacturer said Tambrite’s increased robustness made it suitable for applications where laser or inkjet coding and Braille embossing are required. It also means it is suited to dry and frozen food, as well as confectionery and pharmaceutical packaging solutions.
Michael Eriksson, sales director for Stora Enso Renewable Packaging said: "Tambrite is the all-round best choice for any packaging job where product protection, performance and reliability are key."
Tambrite is the best-selling virgin fibre cartonboard brand in Germany, Benelux, Italy and Spain, according to the Cartonboard Brand Tracking Survey 2012 carried out by the research agency Opticom.
The Cartonboard Brand Tracking Survey contacted 206 converters and 364 brand owners and Tambrite received the highest score on the survey’s "Brand Equity Index".
According to Opticom, this makes it "the most valuable virgin fibre carton board brand" in Europe for converters and the "most valuable virgin fibre carton board brand in pharmaceutical & healthcare and frozen & chilled food segments" for brand owners.
"The Opticom survey results further build on the trust that we have already had for the product and the brand," Eriksson added.
