The North Devon-headquartered business, which has a 930sqm warehouse and new 537sqm office space in Barnstaple, as well as a 167sqm office in Denver, Colorado, said it currently generates leads in the US at a rate of four times as many as it does in the UK.
The business has doubled its total headcount to 72 – including 11 people in the US – and is set to record an overall turnover of around £19.5m this year.
It has also found itself in the national headlines, with The Independent running an article earlier this week about CEO Sam Heaton’s decision to leave the London rat race to start the business, with a particular focus on the company’s US growth after it expanded into Denver 18 months ago.
He was quoted as saying: “Our self-service direct mail platform is now hugely popular in the US, and we have had to turn the marketing down to cope with the enormous number of inbound enquiries.
“It’s a great problem to have. But while we’ve grown exponentially over the past couple of years we try and retain that close-knit community feel, which is the cornerstone of small towns.”
Also in 2023, Stannp.com has moved all of its non-production staff out of the warehouse and into its new office in Barnstaple, making space for more Xerox printers – it now runs 30 Xerox toner devices – and another enveloping line: a second Buhrs BB700. The business runs four Polar guillotines and two CMC 250 inserting lines alongside these.
Heaton told Printweek the business is also about to launch a next generation of the Stannp.com platform in 2024, which has been in development.
“The main investment in technology has been to increase the development headcount from a team of four to 13 people, which means the technology will evolve very quickly in the new year,” he added.
The company is also aiming to offer “more of a programmatic solution” that incorporates SMS and email, with automated journeys configurable from its platform.
