St Ives has adopted Epicor's software following a review of its financial and ERP systems, coinciding with the creation of a centralised IT facilities group.
Initially, the group will deploy the software system to 300 users across its finance management and Service Graphics divisions, but plans are in place to roll the system out to 1,000 users across the rest of the business.
The print group also plans to use Epicor's ERP software for project management and printing functions within its service graphics division.
Simon Young, St Ives' group IT director, said that, by standardising its financial systems, the company could boost efficiency.
"For our management team, it is important to improve the visibility we have of projects and financial information so that we can be as agile as possible in the marketplace," he added.
St Ives selected Epicor following a tender process involving more than 10 companies.
"We were particularly attracted to Epicor by the flexibility of the system to support all our business units through automation, business process management and strong integration with Microsoft Office and SharePoint, without touching the base Epicor code," Young said.
"This means that we do not have to worry about future upgrades to the solution breaking our deployment when they are applied, which gives us a truly supportable environment."
The Epicor-Kodak partnership was announced earlier this week at Ipex. It was formed to enable Epicor, which supplies ERP tools to the retail, manufacturing, distribution, hospitality and services industries, to better target the printing and packaging industry.
Epicor has embedded Kodak's workflow technology and print-focused EMS Business Software into its Epicor 9 package, which it has rebranded Epicor For Print and Packaging.
The software enables customers to manage all aspects of their printing, publishing, media and graphic communications processes.
The latest deal builds on an existing business relationship between Epicor and Kodak – both companies already have a number of joint customers in the printing industry, including Benson Group, which earlier this year extended its use of Epicor's resource planning tools to its Medica Packaging facility in Crewe.
George Klaus, Epicor's chairman, chief executive and president, said: "We have seen a dramatic change in the print, publishing and communications industry with the evolution of digital printing, imaging and the internet.
"We believe integrating these new technologies seamlessly as part of their overall business information system can increase performance and productivity for a wide variety of printing and publishing related industries."
