SprintPrint thanks digital kit for 25% sales rise

SprintPrint has attributed a 25% increase in sales over the past year to an investment in digital kit.

The Bury St Edmunds-based printing shop is one of five shops under one roof as part of the Denny Bros Supplies business.

In 2007, it purchased a Canon IPF9000 60in large-format press with a 42in Contex scanner and Onyx RIP software.

It said the bulk of sales have since come from wedding photo albums, mainly in the summer, and family portraits over the Christmas period, and this work has meant the investment has now paid for itself.

Daryn Reffell, general manager of Denny Bros, said: "We are always looking to invest in the business to increase sales and customer services, ensuring that we keep all our present and new customers happy."

Gary Millington, SprintPrint manager, said: "I was like a kid with a new toy when the new machine arrived, and when you add this to our already extensive architectural customer base for black and white large-format, the future is looking very healthy."

SprintPrint has also recently started to print Ordnance Survey maps.

Millington said he is now optimistic this service will add value to the business.
