Springtek is bringing a piece of software to the graphic arts market that may render the need to archive work to tape a thing of the past.
Taking advantage of the tumbling price of RAID storage, the Disk-2-Disk software from Springtek's new owner Nexsan tags up files that have been altered during the day so they can be backed-up overnight to an archive hard disk system either on or off site.
Springtek sales manager Peter Thornhill claimed that with the cost of high-capacity storage just over a penny per MB, the security and simplicity of a disk-based system would prove a cost-effective option over tape.
Disk-2-Disk software supports any operating system and is available with Springtek's LBB3 and Nexsans Ataboy RAID systems for 850.
