The 3.2m cutting table, which will be delivered in May, will finish output from the company's Durst 320R UV roll-to-roll printer that will go live next month.

Speedscreen opted for the Zünd to complement its existing Esko Kongsberg table and to handle the maximum capacity roll width from the Durst machine.

The machine also comes equipped with a raft of tools including a 1kw router, a pneumatic oscillating tool and a V-Cut tool for cutting materials such as Dufaylite board.

According to managing director Tim Hill, the company's latest investments will help it become "the best equipped business in the region".

"After demonstrations at Zünd, I was convinced this was the right choice, backed by three years' development the G3 model has clearly been refined further and it is some 20% faster than our current machine," he added.

The company, which is celebrating its 25th year in business, will operate the older Durst 800 model as a dedicated flatbed machine while the incoming 320R will produce roll-to-roll jobs.

Hill added that he was impressed with the machine's new Pass Overlap feature, despite the fact it had slowed the print speed by around 7%, as it had removed banding at all speeds.
