Speculation continues over the sudden retirement of Arjo Wiggins Carbonless Paper Operations Europe chief executive Jes Jarvis after it emerged that he had planned to retire last year, but then agreed to stay on (PrintWeek, 27 April).
Arjo Wiggins confirmed that Jarvis was due to retire at the end of 2001, but this had suddenly been bought forward.
A further casualty is David Carley, who left Premier Paper to join Arjo Wiggins Carbonless to team up with former colleague Jarvis.
Carley is now on gardening leave after being told his services were no longer required.
Premier Paper said it allowed Carley out of his gardening leave early as the position with Arjo posed no conflict.
A statement from Arjo Wiggins on the Carley situation will be issued in the next week.
