The 40-year-old firm decided to add two extra collating towers when it replaced its water-damaged Horizon Stitchliner and Horizon AFC566F automated B2 folding systems.
South Yorkshire Printers managing director Chris Gray said: "We wanted exactly the same again, but decided to add the two extra collating towers so we could run faster. They replaced an older collator to give us extra capacity.
"We had to get back up and running as soon as possible because, although we were insured and had business interruption cover, we wanted to ensure our customers experienced as little disruption as possible."
Gray said that last summer's floods left his factory in two feet of water.
"There were only minor items that we salvaged. All the presses and finishing equipment were written off," he told printweek.com.
Alongside the Horizon kit, the printer also replaced five- and two-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 74s, five- and two-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 52s, two two-colour Heidelberg Printmaster 46s, two Polar guillotines and additional binding equipment.
The company took three months to get up and running again, and received financial support from Business Link Sheffield.
The 28-strong company specialises in corporate print for a range of companies including local businesses and international blue-chip clients as well as the public sector. It has a turnover in the region of £1.7m.
