The machines manufactured and installed by Delhi-based Pramod Engineering consists of a six-head stitcher, inline three-knife trimmer and two autoform feeders that are capable of producing 15 lakh magazines per week.
P V K Prasad, director for operations at Sakshi stated that the Telegu-newspaper house chose the machines for its Sunday magazine. The Stitch Stars cut down on delays and wastage; and guarantee reliable delivery plus meeting production deadlines.
Prasad stated that Sakshi Newspapers has saved substantial time in bindery operations due to the installation.
The printed forms are printed on Manugraph Citylines. The top cover is a four pager, 80gsm UV-coated cover and the inside forms are 48gsm. These forms are stitched on the Stitch Star.
Pramod Engineering has 240 installations in India. Plus overseas installations in UK, Middle East, North Africa and the Indian sub-continent. According to Divesh Nath of Pramod Engineering, the company is in the process of bolstering its factory with CNC machines and quality audit systems.
