Sherwood Press takes staff and work from Shore to Shore

Shore to Shore's disaster recovery partner Sherwood Press Group has stepped in to ensure that ongoing work at the failed packaging printer is completed, taking on a quarter of the company's redundant employees in the process.

Heanor, Derbyshire-based Shore to Shore closed its doors last Thursday (24 September), making its 60 staff redundant in the process.

As Shore to Shore's disaster recovery partner, Sherwood Press has taken on several contracts, as well as ensuring that all work in progress is completed.

The £26m company has taken on 15 employees, including sales and production staff, who will be contracted at Sherwood Press from today (1 October).

Jeremy Bacon, group managing director at Sherwood Press, said: "Foremost, we had to ensure that nobody expecting time-critical work was let down. We have also taken the opportunity to take on some good staff."
