The Welsh firm now has a folding line-up of 12 units, including eight Stahlfolders. It runs one B2, one B3 and 10 B1 folders.
S&G managing director Andrew Jones said: “Publishers are always looking to reduce turnaround times, so we need greater capacity. This investment will let us produce 250,000 more sheets every 24 hours.”
S&G’s two new pallet feeder folders will handle both magazine and commercial work.
The TH82s will be the first of Heidelberg’s new generation of folder at Stephens & George. Heidelberg claims the TH/KH series achieves a 10% increase in productivity over older equipment.
