Service Graphics deals boost sales

Service Graphics has reported above budget half-year figures, with a clutch of large contract wins, and plans to continue its strategy of alliances and acquisitions.

In the six months to the end of June, Service Graphics' contract wins included 500,000 for Procter & Gamble in Geneva; 300,000 for the interior branding for Holmes Place; and a 250,000 contract with Puma stores worldwide.

The firm's acquisition of asset management specialist PR Exhibitions earlier this year (PrintWeek, 24 February) also proved fruitful, aided by a strong spend by Royal Bank of Scotland.

Sales were 5% above budget, with operating profits of 1.5m, 43% above budget.

SG sales director Ben Moss said the outlook for the remainder of 2005 was encouraging with operating profit forecast to be almost double that of 2004 at 3m.

He said London's successful bid to host the 2012 Olympics would give the firm's business sector a clear seven-year cycle of growth, especially its bespoke print division, which is one of the largest in Europe.

The interesting areas of growth for the business  were print procurement and large-scale interior branding projects for corporate buildings and flagship stores, according to Moss.

The firm's print procurement division produced 1.5m of sales from a standing start at the end of last year.

"Our main aim is to move forward with plans for acquisitions and alliances, and developing our blue-chip client base," said Moss.
