The Ossett, West Yorkshire-based display printer was set to be officially placed into liquidation on Friday (23 August) according to information seen by PrintWeek. At the time of writing its status at Companies House was yet to be updated, but PrintWeek understands that all staff were made redundant and the business ceased trading on 22 July.
It is understood that Vision On Display did not go into liquidation when it closed because the directors were working on debt collection.
According to a source close to the situation, all equipment run by Vision On Display was refinanced and relocated to the premises of PG Display, the trading name of Ossett-based P&G Holdings, a company run by Vision On Display directors Paul Dunnill and Virginia Mehaffey.
Leonard Curtis Business Rescue & Recovery is overseeing liquidation proceedings, having managed the administration of the Vision On Display’s predecessor Vision On Design in October last year. Dunnill and Mehaffey were the registered directors of both businesses.
Back in October, Vision On Design was placed into administration due to a build-up of trade liabilities and its 52 employees were transferred in a pre-packaged sale to a connected party: Dunnill and Mehaffey.
According to the source, around half of the staff transferred were let go earlier this year and about 25 people stayed with the company up until 22 July.
The remaining employees will now make claims for redundancy pay and arrears, although PrintWeek understands around five Vision On Display employees now work at PG Display.
Leonard Curtis declined to comment on the situation and Paul Dunnill and Virginia Mehaffey could not be contacted.
