The new kit, supplied by Apex Digital Graphics, forms the first step in the Warrington-based printer's plans to move from B3 to B2 – the company is in the process of installing a secondhand Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 72 five-colour plus coater.
Joint managing director Darren Lloyd said the move to the Pro-V plates had "virtually eliminated" its use of chemistry.
He added: "The Screen platesetter will still allow us to produce plates for the B3 press, but means we can create B2-sized plates for the SM 72 as well."
